Nepali national cricket team’s head coach Dave Whatmore has announced his resignation lately.

Its very shocking that the head coach has penned his resignation letter to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) at the time when the national team is on a tour to Oman for the ICC World Cup League 2 qualifier tournament.

Whatmore would be relieved immediately from his post after the conclusion of the WC League 2 qualifier on September 19.

“I also wish to confirm you that this is a very tough decision I have to make after making the deepest of my thoughts on the same,” stated Whatmore in his resignation letter.

“Due to the ongoing pandemic, it is very difficult for me to stay away from my family for such a long time. This is entirely my personal decision and I truly enjoyed working with CAN and its players who are extremely cooperative with me throughout the entire tenure,” he added.

Dave Whatmore was selected as the head coach of the national team through open competition on December 17, 2020, for a contract period of one year.
