Nepal has decided to extend movement prohibitory order in Kathmandu Valley by another week. This order comes hot on the heels of rising coronavirus infections.<\/p>\n
About 613 infections cropped up yesterday in Kathamandu alone. Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 291 cases together. As the country\u2019s COVID-19 caseload has breached 700,000, Nepal\u2019s COVID-19 induced mortalities are close to 10,000.<\/p>\n
The decision was taken after the Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur Chief District Officials (CDOs) meeting. The lockdown is going to last until August 11 now.<\/p>\n
The District Administration Office (DAO) in Kathmandu issued a press release and asked residents to abide by the COVID-19 protocols and avoid activities that would violate the protocols.<\/p>\n

The current prohibitory order will allow the general stores and shops to operate till 7 PM. In addition, online delivery and take-away sections of the restaurants are allowed to operate.<\/p>\n
However, recreational spaces such as swimming pools, gyms, theaters, party places, bars are not allowed. Also, education institutions are not allowed to operate until the government indicates otherwise.<\/p>\n
