While Nepal-Dahal faction of NCP has been demanding the restoration of the dissolved parliament, the Election Commission (EC) has geared up preparations for the mid-term elections scheduled for April 30 and May 10.<\/p>\n
In an all-party meeting on Sunday, the EC has prepared the preliminary draft on the work-plan, election schedule, and estimated expenses. It has concluded that around NPR 8 billion<\/strong> will be required to hold the elections in two phases. Moreover, the Commission has decided to publish the voter list on January 28.<\/p>\n EC Spokesperson Raj Kumar Shrestha informed that the expenses this time will exceed the previous expenses due to the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n According to the EC, around NPR 7,759,441,000<\/strong> was spent to hold the federal and provincial elections in 2017.
