<\/p>\nNepal and Israel have signed an agreement on labor on Wednesday, paving the way for Nepalis to work in the West Asian country.<\/p>\n
With this agreement, the Israeli Government has agreed to provide employment opportunities to Nepali migrant workers in the agriculture, hospitality, and construction sectors.<\/p>\n
The labor enrolment for Israel will start once both countries sign the implementation protocol. In the first phase, Israel will employ around 500 Nepali migrant workers as caregivers in the nursing areas, including hospitals, nursing homes, elderly homes, and daycare centers. With this, Nepali workers will get equal facilities and treatment as enjoyed by the Israeli workers.<\/p>\n

Nepali Ambassador to Israel Dr. Anjan Shakya and Foreign Affairs Minister of Israel E. Gabi Ashkenazi have signed the agreement.<\/p>\n
The new development comes at the time when the Nepali Government has prioritized inking new labor agreements and revising old agreements with various countries. So far, Nepal has signed labor agreements with nine countries, including Qatar, Bahrain, the UAE, Israel, Japan, South Korea, Jordan, Malaysia, and Mauritius.<\/p>\n
Likewise, both the governments also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the Agriculture Center of Excellence in Nepal.<\/p>\n
