As Nepal continues to grapple with the coronavirus pandemic with the infections crossing 18,700 mark and deaths at 48, Sindhupalchowk district has declared itself to be free from the virus.<\/p>\n
On July 27, Sindhupalchowk announced that the last of its coronavirus patients had recovered with its health officials revealing there were no active cases in the district.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll 65 COVID-19 patients in the district have returned home after recovery. We don\u2019t have any active cases of COVID-19 for now,\u201d said Senior Public Health Officer, Durgadutta Chapagain.<\/p>\n
So far, the district has reported 67 COVID-19 cases including two death cases. However, most of the infected people were foreign migrants.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, 15 people returned from Kathmandu, Bara, Syangja, Bhojpur and Dolakha, and six people within the district tested positive for COVID-19.<\/p>\n
A female from Barabise Rural Municipality was the first case of COVID-19 in the district on April 13. She died while undergoing treatment, becoming the first COVID-19 death in Nepal.<\/p>\n

According to the District Administration Office, 1,504 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests were conducted in Sindhupalchowk.<\/p>\n
