So far, Nepal has reported 7,848 COVID-19 infection cases and 22 death cases. Currently, 6,640 patients are undergoing treatment across the country while 1,186 patients were recovered successfully.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the world has witnessed around 140,528 infections and 5,123 deaths in the last 24 hours. As of today, the global tally of coronavirus cases stands at 8,578,283 with 456,286 causalities.<\/p>\n
At present, 3,591,731 patients were undergoing treatment while 4,530,266 patients have recovered successfully.<\/p>\n
Even after almost three months of stringent lockdown, Nepal still sees new highs in fresh coronavirus cases.<\/p>\n
The country has seen another single-day high in COVID-19 cases as 671 more positive patients were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total count to 7,848.<\/p>\n
The death toll also rose to 22 after two more fatalities were reported in the country in the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, 19 COVID-19 patients were discharged from various hospitals on Thursday after recovering from the coronavirus.<\/p>\n
Currently, 6,648 people are in isolation and 116,215 are in quarantines across the country.<\/p>\n

Gandaki Pradesh has reported 24 new coronavirus cases on Friday morning, taking the state’s total count to 348.<\/p>\n

Inadequate healthcare facilities and sluggish testing are considered to be the prime factors for the sudden rise in the coronavirus cases in Nepal.<\/p>\n
Even though the COVID-19 cases have increased dramatically in the last few weeks, the Nepali Government still delays to speed up the COVID-19 testing.<\/p>\n
As of today, around 30,492 swab samples were piled up in 21 government laboratories across the country. And, the people are forced to wait for almost three weeks to get their results.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Province 1 has stopped collecting swab samples from the last two days despite a rapid rise in coronavirus infections.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe hospital has been unable to conduct COVID-19 testing due to shortage of reagent. We have requested local units to stop collecting swab samples; it will only pile up in the laboratory, given the shortage of reagent,” said Dr. Laxmi Narayan Yadav, Spokesperson at the Koshi Zonal Hospital in Province 1.<\/p>\n
Moreover, around 8,000 individuals in quarantine facilities in Province 2 are waiting for their swab samples to be collected.<\/p>\n
COVID-19 test results of 58 people who were sent home after their 14-day stay in quarantine camps in Dadeldhura district came out positive.<\/p>\n
The concerned authorities had sent them back to their home one week ago after collecting their swabs. Their reports came out on June 18.<\/p>\n
