The Nepali government is striving to implement best strategies including lockdown extension and local entry points closure to stave off coronavirus<\/a> spread in the country.<\/p>\n In the same line, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology have ordered the schools, colleges and other educational institutions to restrict from announcing admissions until further notice.<\/p>\n The government has also directed the educational institutions not to impose any charges for online classes.<\/p>\n However, the Ministry has not taken any decision regarding the Secondary Education Examinations (SEE), and Grade 11 and Grade 12 Board Examinations.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have been minutely observing the situation and consulting the stakeholders in this regard,\u201d said the Ministry.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n ALSO READ: Nepal to Introduce \u2018Digital Education\u2019 Amid COVID-19 Lockdown<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Issuing the notice on May 4, 2020, the Ministry has instructed the educational institutions not to collect fees for one month except the residential charges.<\/p>\n So far, Nepal has reported 82 coronavirus infection cases and zero death cases<\/a>. Even though the number is small, the government is on high alert due to the sudden surge in COVID-19 cases in recent days.<\/p>\n
