The colossal impact of COVID-19 has disrupted nearly every aspect of life, with sports no exception.<\/p>\n
With the Nepali Government imposing nationwide lockdown and travel restrictions, the sports events, major or minor, continued to be postponed or canceled over coronavirus threat.<\/p>\n
List of Sports Events Disrupted in Nepal<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), the first international friendly football match between Nepal’s national team and England’s ‘C’ team has been postponed for an indefinite period.<\/p>\n The first match was supposed to be held in England on May 25, 2020 and the second match was scheduled in Nepal in 2021.<\/p>\n Earlier in January, the ANFA and the Football Association (FA) of England have agreed to organize two friendly football matches.<\/p>\n The ANFA has postponed the Deputy Mayor National Women Football League that was scheduled to be held on March 16-26,2020 at the Dharan Stadium in Sunsari.<\/p>\n On April 19, 2020, the Nepal Volleyball Association (NVA) has postponed the \u20185th<\/sup> NVA National Women’s and Men’s Volleyball Tournament\u2019 until further notice.<\/p>\n Eight men’s team and six women’s teams were scheduled to take part in the tournament that was supposed to be held in early May.<\/p>\n The 2020 Namibia Tri-Nation Series as a part of 2019\u201322 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 tournament has been postponed for an indefinite period.<\/p>\n The Men\u2019s Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series between Nepal, Namibia and Scotland was supposed to be held in Windhoek from April 20-27, 2020.<\/p>\n The \u20182020 Papua New Guinea Tri-Nation Series\u2019 between Nepal, Papua New Guinea and the United Arab Emirates was scheduled to take place in Port Moresby from June 9-16, 2020.<\/p>\n However, the International Cricket Council (ICC) had postponed the tournament due to the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has postponed the 2020 Everest Premium League that was scheduled to start from March 14, 2020.<\/p>\n[ALSO READ:<\/strong> Nepal’s COVID-19 count reaches 42<\/a>]\n Stay Tuned to NepaliSansar for Latest Sports News<\/a>!<\/strong><\/p>\n Other Sports Stories<\/strong><\/p>\n1) First International Friendly Football Match<\/h3>\n
