The coronavirus pandemic has been taking a heavy toll on the US, with infection cases more than the combined total of cases in the next four most affected countries – Italy, Spain, France and Germany.

The exponential rise in new COVID-19 cases since late March has pushed the US to the top.

So far, the US has reported 792,938 coronavirus infection cases and 42,518 death cases. Meanwhile, 72,389 patients have already recovered and discharged.

New York is the worst-hit state in the US with 252,094 infection cases and 18,929 deaths cases.

However, the American Government has been taking stringent measures including nationwide lockdown, suspension of flights and border restrictions to control the contagion.

Lately, US President Donald Trump has tweeted that he will suspend all immigration into the country through an executive order.

Trump expressed that he was taking the decision to curb the coronavirus and also to support Americans suffering from unemployment.

In the last four weeks, more than 20 million Americans have lost employment after companies laid off employees amid nationwide lockdown.

In light of the attack from the Invisible Enemy, as well as the need to protect the jobs of our GREAT American Citizens, I will be signing an Executive Order to temporarily suspend immigration into the United States!
