Despite taking drastic steps to hinder the spread of the coronavirus to the country, a Nepali citizen, who has returned home from China, has tested positive for the deadly virus.<\/p>\n
This is the second COVID-19 infection case in Nepal. Earlier, a 32-year-old Nepali student, who returned from Wuhan, China, tested positive in January 2020. However, he was discharged within 4 days of isolation upon clinical improvement.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, 2 Nepali migrant workers in the UAE and a Nepali student in Australia have been infected with the novel virus.<\/p>\n
The Nepali student, who reached Australia via Singapore from Nepal on February 26, has been isolated at the Royal Hobart Hospital in Tasmania, Australia.<\/p>\n
In a bid to tackle COVID-19 disease, the Nepali High-Level Coordination Committee has decided to call an all-party meeting to discuss the contagion.<\/p>\n
Moreover, the Nepali Government has arranged self-quarantine facilities for 71 Chinese workers, who has returned from China for the construction of Pokhara Regional International Airport.<\/p>\n
Earlier, around 36 Chinese workers had stayed in self-isolation and returned to work after proving asymptomatic.<\/p>\n
