July 13, 2017<\/strong><\/p>\nChief of Army Staff (CoAS) Rajendra Chhetri, who is currently on an official visit to the United Kingdom, held discussions on a wide range of matters of mutual interest with the officials of the British Army. Chhetri\u2019s visit to the UK follows a personal invitation from Nicholas Patrick Carter, the Chief of General Staff of the British Army.<\/p>\n
For over 200 years Nepal and UK have enjoyed a harmonious relationship not just at the military level but also at the people-to-people level. The CoAS\u2019s visit is expected to further cement the ties between the two countries.<\/p>\n
Aside his meeting with General Sir\u00a0Carter, Chhetri also interacted with high ranked officials of the Gorkha Brigade. He also visited various army units including the 19 Regiment Royal Artillery of the British Army and reviewed aspects pertaining to the country\u2019s defense transformation.<\/p>\n
Chhetri had earlier attended the 2nd Summit of United Nations Chiefs of Defense Conference of Troops Contributing Countries-TCC held at the United Nations headquarters in New York before his trip to the UK.
