July 7, 2017<\/strong><\/p>\nIn a review meeting held on July 6, 2017, the Indian and Nepali officials discussed bottlenecks that stranded the progress of India-funded projects in Nepal.<\/p>\n
The fourth Nepal-India Oversight Mechanism\u00a0meeting shed light on the stalled infrastructure and energy projects, red tape issues, among others.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have already identified problems and glitches in the projects. Now, the time has come to expedite their execution,\u201d said Foreign Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi, who led the Nepali delegation, post discussion with Indian Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri.<\/p>\n
The meeting also witnessed the presence of senior officials and representatives from various economic and infrastructure projects.<\/p>\n
According to the Foreign Ministry, a comprehensive review was also made on the progress of bilateral economic and developmental projects since the third such meeting held in the second week of April 2017.<\/p>\n
Cross-border rail and transmission line projects, Upper Karnali and Arun III hydropower projects, integrated check posts postal roads, Pancheshwar multipurpose and other reconstruction projects, and Exim Bank Line of Credit projects\u00a0were among other issues discussed during the meet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
