    A review of the past eight years shows that Nepal students travelling abroad for higher education has increased seven times.<\/p>\n

    According to the Nepal Education<\/a>, Science and Technology Ministry, more than 300,000 students are studying in various world universities.<\/p>\n

    Foreign Education Department Chief Girman Thapa reveals that the exact number of Nepali students who sought permission to go abroad is 323,972.<\/p>\n

    The number of such applications have increased leaps and bounds, said the Nepal Government<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    Out of the 323,972 students who took permission to go abroad for higher education last year, 63,359 students applied for higher education. This is relatively higher to the number of Nepali students going abroad in 2068-69 BS – 10,324 students. In FY 2074-75 as many as 56,216 Nepali students went abroad for higher studies \u2013 an increase of 10,000 Nepali students in comparison to the previous year.<\/p>\n

    As per the statistical average of the data from the last eight years, an average of 200 Nepali students leave the country for foreign studies in as many as 69 countries.<\/p>\n

    Most-Preferred Study Destinations for Nepali Students<\/h3>\n

    Australia stands as the most-preferred destination<\/a> for higher education among Nepalis students. Last year, a total of 36,324 Nepali students went to Australia after receiving government approval.<\/p>\n

    After Australia, Japan is the second-best destination for Nepali students higher education. A total of 8,523 crossed Nepal\u2019s border with government permission for higher education in Japan.<\/p>\n

    More than 63,000 Nepali students have gone to Japan over the last eight years.<\/p>\n

    Nepali students travel to different destinations for higher education and opt for popular streams such as health, management, science and technology.<\/p>\n

    However, the Nepal Government has no track of students who complete their study who travel to a foreign destination. There is a considerable number of students who never come back to Nepal or drop out of college during their course.<\/p>\n
