July 4, 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n A recent study conducted by the District Health Office (DHO), Tanahun revealed an alarming fact that is concerning the district\u2019s populace.<\/p>\n In a study, it conducted over the first six months of the current fiscal, the Tanahun DHO confirmed that \u2018over 25% of the girls in the district are becoming mothers before their child-bearing age\u2019. Speaking on this, the DHO chief, D Pawanjung Rayamajhi, noted that the study concluded those girls to be below the age of 14 years, which is raising a concern over the growing number of young mothers in the district.<\/p>\n \u201cAs there is an increasing number of girls becoming pregnant before the right age, it is going to be a public health issue, as young mothers are too shy to come for pregnancy tests and lack proper nutrition.
