Nepal\u2019s culture expert Satya Mohan Joshi is successfully celebrating his 100th<\/sup> year birthday on May 13, 2019.<\/p>\n On the occasion, President Bidya Devi Bhandari extended birthday wishes to Joshi wishing him long life and peace.<\/p>\n \u201cYou have dedicated your entire life to the study and research of folk culture and Nepal literature through your long relentless efforts expanding over eight decades for the elevation of Nepali art, culture and literature,\u201d read the President\u2019s message to Joshi.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Lauding Joshi\u2019s contribution to the Nepali art and literature, Bhandari said, \u201cYour long dedication and rich knowledge has made the world of Nepali literature and culture<\/a> prosperous. You did a lot for the nation by researching about Nepali artist (national luminary) Araniko, who had worked as a bridge between Nepal and China.\u201d<\/p>\n Speaking about Joshi\u2019s contribution to Nepali civilization, she said, \u201cYou had enriched the store of knowledge by bringing out the importance of our Karnali civilization and Sinja, the place of origin of the Khas language.\u00a0 Your contribution to the enhancement of the Nepal Bhasha is significant. I am pleased to wish you long life and good health on this special moment.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Joshi (98) is currently the Chancellor of Nepal Bhasa Academy and has served key positions in his long career.<\/p>\n He served as the first Director of Archaeological and Cultural Department, Government of Nepal<\/a> in 1959.
