In another dismaying update on Nepal\u2019s rhinos, half of the deceased rhinos at Chitwan National Park<\/a> (CNP) are completely decomposed.<\/p>\n The 19 rhinos have decomposed to the extent that even their sex cannot be determined.<\/p>\n According to CNP Information Officer Gopal Ghimire, only the carcass of the dead rhinos was found and so it was difficult to distinguish their sex.<\/p>\n Moreover, some of the carcasses were found covered with fungi. Most of them have died in the previous year.<\/p>\n \u201cRoughly 22-25 endangered rhinos are annually found dead at CNP due to natural reasons\u201d, Gopal Ghimire<\/span> informed.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Ghimire said that they were able to find the carcasses only after they carried out \u2018sweep operations\u2019 in the current fiscal year.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
