June 26, 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n For Indian nationals, Aadhaar card is not an acceptable travel document to enter Nepal and Bhutan from India, according to the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs.<\/p>\n The Aadhaar card, which has a 12-digit unique identification number and personal details like name and address, serves as a proof of identification and residence.<\/p>\n Nepal and Bhutan share open border with India and do not require the Indians to have visas for the visit. Also, persons over 65 and below 15 years age can show documents with photographs to confirm their age and identity. These includes PAN card, driving licence, Central Government Health Service card and ration card.<\/p>\n
\nIndians can enter Nepal and Bhutan if they carry a valid national passport<\/a> or election ID card issued by the Election Commission, the Ministry says.<\/p>\n
