Thailand Beats UAE by 57 Runs to Enter ICC Women\u2019s World Cup Qualifier<\/strong><\/h4>\n

At the final match of the ICC Women T20 World Cup-Qualifier-Asia 2019 in the Asian Institute of Technology Ground, host-country Thailand beat UAE by 50 runs!<\/p>\n

Thailand won the toss and elected to bat first, setting a target of 107 runs at a loss of 8 wickets. Nattakan Chantam was the highest Thai scorer, with 35 runs from 30 deliveries.<\/p>\n

When it was UAE\u2019s turn, Thailand kept building pressure on UAE\u2019s players. The opponents struggled under Thailand\u2019s strong defense and yielded an overall score of just 57 runs!<\/p>\n

With this victory, Thailand will now represent Asia at the 2019 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier <\/em>and 2020 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier<\/em>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Both Nepal and UAE played close contenders for a position in the Qualifiers. If Thailand were to lose any of the matches towards the end of the Asia Qualifiers, Nepal or UAE were sure to be the qualifying team for the 2019 and 2020 World Cup Qualifiers.<\/p>\n

Nepal emerged second at the ranks table with 10 points from six matches. The team\u2019s defeat in the second match against Thailand sealed Nepal\u2019s hope for the World Cup Qualifiers.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Nepal Vs Kuwait: Match -6<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Nepal registered another striking victory against Kuwait in the 20^{th<\/sup> match of the ICC Women T20 World Cup-Qualifier-Asia 2019!<\/p>\n}

Kuwait won the toss and elected to field first.<\/p>\n

Nepal began its batting line-up with K Shreshtha, who gave Nepal an 18-run stint. The other opening batswoman SR Magar could not make any runs, as she was bowled by Khadija Khalil in the very first over.<\/p>\n

B Rawal became Nepal\u2019s highest scorer with 28 runs from 49 deliveries. The rest of the players scored, 7, 7, 19, and 22 runs, respectively, resulting in an overall score of 116 runs!<\/p>\n

Now, it was Kuwait\u2019s turn to bat and chase Nepal\u2019s target.<\/p>\n

Priyada Murali and Sabreen Zaki started the Kuwait batting line with 14 and 12 runs, respectively.<\/p>\n

Then came Maryam Omar, whose 29-run contribution remained the highest score made by any of the team players.<\/p>\n

The rest of the Kuwait players scored 12, 4 and 1 runs respectively, leading their team to a total score of 86 runs at a loss of six wickets.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, Nepal won the match by 7 wickets. Skipper Rubina Chettri became the first Nepali woman bowler to take a hattrick in T20 international and was declared \u2018Player of the Match\u2019 for the same!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The remaining players scored, 8, 7, 6, 5, 3 and 3 runs, each.<\/p>\n At the end of Nepal\u2019s battling line, the team set a target of 77 runs to beat.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n China\u2019s Wang Meng picked three Nepali wickets, becoming the highest wicket taker from the Chinese side.
