Mt. Everest<\/a>. The new study will reveal the actual height of the world\u2019s tallest peak along with the impact of climate change on the mountain.<\/p>\nThere are assumptions that the height of the peak could have changed because of a powerful earthquake in 2015, with a possible shift in its geographic position. However, there is no scientific research to verify these assumptions. Many international institutions and India wanted to measure the height, but the government decided to do it on its own.<\/p>\n
Nepali technicians, who started working from Udayapur district last week, are expected to complete the task of measurement in a couple of years with the assistance of the international experts and scientists.<\/p>\n
Survey Department said that it will seek the help from international experts, scientists and others with experience in high altitude measurements. It will also involve International Association of Geodesy technical support.<\/p>\n
The tools like GPS, gravity survey measurement, vertical height measurement and mathematical survey will be used to make the results reliable and globally accepted.<\/p>\n
