December 26, 2018, marked the beginning of Nepal Federal Parliament \u2018winter session\u2019 at New Baneshwor\u2019s Federal Parliament Building.<\/p>\n
The third session of the Federal Parliament began with Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara\u2019s welcome note, followed by a letter from the Office of the President about the session call.<\/p>\n
This session, also known as the \u2018bill session\u2019 discusses drafts of bills and their endorsements. It seeks to amend or replace existing laws<\/a> that are not in accordance with the Nepali Constitution.<\/p>\n As part of the proceedings, Nepal political parties\u2019 leaders and members have already started giving their suggestions.<\/p>\n Deuba Storms Session With Allegations<\/strong> Deuba slammed the incumbent government for its approach towards certain issues.<\/p>\n Starting with the controversial Nirmala Panta<\/a> case, he said that the Government failed to maintain peace and security and alleged that it was responsible for protecting those involved in the victim\u2019s rape and murder.<\/p>\n \u201cThe police are torturing innocent people in an attempt to extract confessions in the Nirmala case,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Deuba pointed out that the government was not honest in implementing federalism<\/a> or amending the constitution. Adding further, he said that the government was not able to win the confidence of Janajatis, Madhesis and Tharus with regard to the constitution amendment.<\/p>\n
\nOn the same day, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba<\/a> warned the government of a \u2018stormy session\u2019.<\/p>\n
