Film festivals have always been a Nepal favorite. And one such festival is its own creation, Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF).<\/p>\n
The 15th<\/sup> KIMFF recently concluded on December 10, 2018 at the QFX Kumari, Kamalpokhari.<\/p>\n KIMFF jury included prestigious persons from the international film fraternity such as Canadian Banff Mountain Film Festival Director Joanna Croston, Indian Filmmaker & Editor Reena Mohan and Nepal Filmmaker Kesang Tseten.<\/p>\n The unique film festival showcased 70 works from 37 countries including animation, documentaries, fiction and short experimental films that were based on mountain inhabitants\u2019 beauty, hardships and lives.<\/p>\n Following are the creations that won first, second and third prizes out of 14 films in the Competitive Section:<\/strong><\/p>\n Also, Nicholas Schrunk\u2019s Blood Road <\/em>won the \u2018Best Film\u2019 title in the Competitive section and was awarded by Film Critics Society of Nepal.<\/em><\/p>\n The top prize winners were awarded with USD 1,500, USD 1,000 and USD 500, respectively.<\/p>\n Jha Lo \u2013 Year of the Bird<\/em> by Shenang Gyamjo Tamang in the Panaroma section<\/strong> received a \u2018special mention\u2019 from the jury.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Rajesh Prasad Khatri\u2019s Jaalgedi \u2013 A Curious Girl<\/em> won the \u2018Best Film\u2019<\/em> title in Fiction category<\/strong> and earned a cash prize of NPR 75,000.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ashmita Shirish and Gavin Carver\u2019s Gyalmu\u2019s House<\/em> won the \u2018Best Film\u2019<\/em> and a cash prize of NPR 50,000 under the Documentary section<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Savyasachi Anju Prabir\u2019s Kahan Kaa Raasta \u2013 At the Crossroads<\/em> was awarded the \u2018Best ICIMOD Mountain Film Award\u2019<\/em> with a cash prize of USD 1,000 by the International Center for Integrated Mountain Development<\/em> (ICIMOD).<\/p>\n The Last Lonely Hunter <\/em>by Ben Knight won the \u2018KIMFF’s Audience Award Trophy<\/strong>\u2019 based on popularity and maximum votes from audience.<\/p>\n\n
