It has strengthened our national unity,\u201d reads Bhandari\u2019s<\/span> message.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The Nepal President noted King Janak\u2019s and Mithila\u2019s eminence which has been well-appreciated for a long time.<\/p>\n She added that the celebrations of Bibaha Panchami on such a glorious site has its own historical value and will always make Nepalis look dignified.<\/p>\n Bhandari also expressed her confidence that the festival will be instrumental in strengthening mutual harmony, tolerance and unity among Nepalis.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Finally, Nepal\u2019s most loved festival<\/a> Bibaha (Vivaha) Panchami is here and the preparations are going on in full swing.<\/p>\n Devotees have started arriving in Nepal to witness the grand celebration.<\/p>\n Bibaha Panchami History<\/strong> Bibaha Panchami falls on Shukla Paksha\u2019s fifth day in Margasirsha month as per the lunar calendar.<\/p>\n The grand festival is celebrated to mark the wedding day of Ayodhya King Dashrath\u2019s eldest son Lord Ram and Janakpur King Janak\u2019s daughter Goddess Sita\/Janaki.<\/p>\n According to Mithila culture, various rituals are performed such as Tilakotsav, Matkor, Swoyambar and Bibaha as part of the 7-day celebration.<\/p>\n Lavishly decorated statues of Lord Ram and Sita are carried on specially decorated carriages and brought from Ram and Janaki temples, respectively to Bahrabigha Ground.<\/p>\n On the Bibaha Day, devotees take a holy bath, offer worship and make resolutions. The worship is accompanied by singing hymns, staging a play on the lives of Ram & Sita, elaborate celebrations and listening to religious discourse.<\/p>\n The festival also highlights India and Nepal\u2019s historical social and cultural bonding which has been preserved for many centuries.<\/p>\n To continue keeping the two nations cultural ties strong, Nepal PM KP Oli invited<\/a> Indian PM Narendra Modi to celebrate the special Nepali festival.<\/p>\n However, due to the Indian PM\u2019s hectic schedule, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will take up his responsibility and lead a procession to Janakpur<\/a> in view of \u2018Bibaha Panchami\u2019, the wedding day of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita.<\/p>\n Yogi Adityanath’s Visit to Janakpur<\/strong> However, the Uttar Pradesh CM\u2019s visit comes at a time when Nepal\u2019s ruling party is already facing heat over religious issues such as co-hosting the Unification Church-organized Asia Pacific Summit 2018<\/a>.<\/p>\n Additionally, Nepal Congress top leader had opposed Gorakhnath Mutt\u2019s high priest\u2019s visit, earlier.<\/p>\n
