Major Health Milestone Reached: World’s First ‘Malaria Vaccine’ Released

In a major scientific breakthrough, the world’s first Malaria vaccine has been released in various parts of Kenya on September 13, 2019.

It will be added to the routine vaccination schedule and over than 300,000 children are expected to receive the vaccine over the next three years. As per global health estimates, Malaria kills more than 400,000 people globally each year mostly children.

The vaccine, which has taken thirty years to make, trains the immune system to attack the Malaria parasite induced by a mosquito bite.
