Nepali Government Incurs NPR 11.4 Billion in Arrears in FY 2019/20

According to the Financial Comptroller General Office, the Nepali Government has accumulated NPR 11.4 billion in arrears at the end of the last fiscal year 2019/20. Meanwhile, the government had spent NPR 1.093 trillion during the fiscal.

The Office informed that it calculated the arrears during the internal audit of the government agencies conducted recently. On Thursday, the Office had submitted the internal audit report to Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel.

However, the Office of the Auditor-General is yet to conduct the final audit.

Here is the list of agencies with the highest amount of arrears:
