The two-week art fest is slated for November 23, 2018 and will see the participation of the shortlisted 20 talented Nepalis and other international artists, at Patan.
Earlier in 2018, Micro Galleries announced that it was tying-up with Kaalo.101, a Kathmandu-bases arts entity.
Praising the quality of qualifying artists’ submissions, Micro Galleries Artistic Director Kat Roma Greer said, “The quality and diversity of the artists who have responded to this call out has been amazing. We are extremely excited by the caliber of artists throughout Nepal, as well as their passion to discuss empowerment and generate positive change for local communities. We cannot wait for this creative force to be presented to the world.”
Local digital artist and one of the nominees for the fest, Shree Noor Lal Rajbhandari said that this was a great opportunity to meet & work with all these amazingly creative individuals. He is eagerly looking forward to sharing his ideas and projecting them to the society.
Rajbhandari is specialized in developing visual aesthetics and compositions to create various socio-political narratives.
Artist Michelle Lama who is also participating in the fest said that she thinks that every individual is constantly evolving when it comes to concepts of human curiosity & emotions.
She will be working with a various artistic mediums ranging from projections and sounds to paintings & paper-cuts.
Micro Galleries is known for its micro inventions that it creates across scraps of forgotten land, ignored walls and unexpected potholes.
The fest aims to feature works that bridge the gaps between street art and fine art.

Headed by veteran artist and Chancellor the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, Ragini Upadhyaya, the team included artists Ramesh Dhwoj Shrestha, AC Suman, Sushma Rajbhandari, Ganesh Kumar GC, Chanda Shrestha, Ranju Yadav, Manoj Tamang, and Kanchakaji Bhasis.
Supported by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Bangladesh, the event presents a great opportunity for the promotion of Nepali art that has been practiced since old times.
