]]>Making the first entry a grand success, Nepali participants grabbed one district-level award and five out of six division-level awards in various categories of the Toastmasters International District-level speech contests.
Diptee Chhettri Acharya from the Everest Toastmasters Club, followed by Prashant Shrestha of the Himalaya Toastmasters Club, won the evaluation contest.
Whereas, Seema Golchha from the Everest Toastmasters Club stood first in the humorous speech contest, followed by Manoj Basnet of the Everest Toastmasters Club and Rabindra Pradhan of the Shangrilla Toastmasters Club.
Nepal comes under District 41 in the Toastmaster International’s global network that covers clubs and areas of North East and Central India, Bhutan and Bangladesh.
Currently, there are nine active toastmaster clubs with around 400 members who deliver training in leadership and communication development.
“Our mission is to form a separate District in Nepal by 2020 by promoting the toastmasters movement across the country,” says Area Director Ranjit Acharya.
