Nepali Footballer Rohit Chand Gets ‘Most Valuable Player’ Title!

Nepal national football player created history at the Go-Jek Liga 1 in Jakarta on December 10, 2018, by winning the ‘ Most Valuable Player’ title!

Rohit Chand helped his team Persija Jakarta record a smashing victory against team Mitra Kukar at 2-1 to become champion of the season.

With this victory, Persija won 18 matches, drew eight and lost eight out 34 matches. The team accumulated a total of 62 points in the championship.

The victory has secured the team’s position in the AFC Championship and AFC League Cup.

Nepal’s Chand was instrumental to Persija’s success with three goals in the 31 matches he played out of the total 34.

About Rohit Chand

Trained by All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), Chand began his career as a Mahindra Club member in the Martyr’s Memorial A-Division League in 2009.

At 19, he was awarded the Best Defender Award with striking performances throughout the league. He then went onto to join the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Sporting Club between 2010-2012.

After just two seasons with the club, he became famous throughout South Asia. Chand also played for Malaysia’s T-Team in 2016.
