The organizers conducted a virtual competition to boost the morale of the players.



Nepal Bags 4 Gold Medals in ‘Virtual Taekwondo’ Championship!

The morale and enthusiasm of the players worldwide could have been certainly dampened due to the unprecedented postponement of sports events in view of coronavirus pandemic.

At this juncture, the International Open Friendly Taekwondo Championship (IOFTC) organizers have come up with an innovative thought to boost the morale of the players.

The IOFTC, in association with the Everest Taekwondo Association and Universal United Nepalis Taekwondo Federation, has organized ‘Lockdown COVID-19 Poomsae Online Video Championship 2020’.


In the virtual competition, Nepal has bagged four gold medals, three silver medals and 14 bronze medals.

  • Kamal Shrestha: Male Age-30 Category
  • Parbati Gurung: Female Age-30 Category
  • Saragam Thapa: Female Age-9 Category
  • Nikun Gurung: Male Age-7 Category

Silver Medal Winners

  • Fadindra Khadka: Male Age-50 Category
  • Hasta Bahadur Tamang: Male Age-30 Category
  • Sanjila Timilsina: Female Age-30 Category
  • Pragyan Tamang: Male Age-9 Category

Bronze Medal Winners

  • Parshu Narayan Bohora: Male Age-50 Category
  • Madhusudan Sapkota: Male Age-50 Category
  • Suraj Shrestha: Male Age-40 Category
  • Reshmaya Gurung: Female Age-40 Category
  • Jit Bahadur Bot: Male Age-30 Category
  • Prem Bahadur Limso: Male Age-30 Category
  • Sandhya Lama: Female Age-14 Category
  • Dipesh Gurung: Malte Age-17 Category
  • Monika Ramtel: Female Age-17 Category
  • Karun Khand: Male Age-9 Category
  • Aryason Jung Rana: Male Age-9 Category

The jury panel of World Taekwondo International Referees had evaluated the virtual matches and made public the results.
