In a saddening defeat, Nepal was swiped 5-0 in its first match in the SAFF U-15 Men’s Football Championship.
India established its dominance in as early as the fifth minute when team player Maheson Singh shot a goal, marking a first for his team.
Moving forward, he helped India register its second massive goal at the 24th minute when he passed the ball over to Shubho Paul to send it into the net.
Until then, Nepal struggled with the attempt to even make its first goal.
As fate had it, India progressed in its race to the finish with Anish Mazumder’s goal at the 43rd minute, Taison Singh’s at 49 and Sridarth Nongmeikapam’s victory-defining shot at the 56th minute.
Let’s wait and see how Nepal recovers from this match and progresses throughout the series. Nepal will now play Bangladesh in its next match on August 23, 2019.
