Gaurika Made ‘History’ by Bagging Three Golds in SAG 2019

Swimmer, Gaurika Singh, who has already clinched two gold medals, has bagged her third gold at the ongoing 13th South Asian Games (SAG) on December 8, 2019

She took her tally to three golds by winning a gold in the women’s 400 meters freestyle category of swimming.

She won the title by finishing ahead of Shivangi Sarma of India and Ramudi Nulara Samarakoon of Sri Lanka.

 

Timings:

  • Gaurika (Gold Medal) – 4:25.28 minutes
  • Shivangi (Silver Medal) – 4:26.22 minutes
  • Samarakoon (Bronze Medal) – 4:41.91 minutes

Moreover, on the same day, she added another medal to the tally, by winning a silver in the women’s 50 meters backstroke.

She finished the distance in 29.71 seconds, just a second behind the winner, Manna Rajiv Patel of India, who clocked 28.94 seconds.
