..And the winner of the Women Champions League T20 Tournament 2019 is Chitwan Rhinos Women!
Winnings fixture after fixture, Rhinos established its dominance very early in the series. Its victory over Kat Queens Kathmandu is no surprise.
Today’s finale began with Queens winning the toss and choosing to field first.
Rhinos opened their account with players Kajal Shrestha and Kanchan Shrestha. Both players scored 21 and 19 runs, respectively.
Suman Khatiwada was the highest scorer and the highest wicket taker for Rhinos. She scored 29 runs from 25 deliveries and picked three Queens wickets in today’s match
Rhinos innings ended with a score of 112 runs from 20 overs and a loss of four wickets.
In Queens turn, players Sobha Aale and RC Belbashi began the innings. However, the duo failed to make an impressive start and were bowled out at single-digit scores – 6 and 2, respectively.
Following through, none of the remaining players were able to register scores past 15 runs. Apsari Begum, the highest scorer in Queens team scored 15 runs, while Mamta Thapa and Ishwori Bist scored 13 runs each.
In all, Queens scored 67 runs from 20 overs at a loss of all wickets.
A memorable journey came to an end for Queens, when it failed to make the winning runs in the final game of the series.
Despite having an edge over all its competitors, Kathmandu couldn’t conquer Rhinos and finished as runners-up in the tournament.
The winner of the WCL T20 Tournament 2019 – Chitwan Rhinos Women wins the title trophy and a cash prize of NPR 700,000. On the other hand, Kat Queens Kathmandu gets NPR 300,000.
Match Background
The first edition of the Women Champions League T20 Tournament has reached its end.
Today, the two best teams Chitwan Rhinos and Kat Queens Kathmandu will be playing the final match of the series at the Tribhuvan University cricket ground at 11:30 AM.
Chitwan Rhinos has been the top team of the WCL T20 Tournament and had won all the four group stage matches it played.
On the other hand, second to best – Queens had won three out of four matches and had to defeat Biratnagar Titans in the eliminators to reach the final.
The WCL T20 Tournament 2019 had opened with a match between Kat Queens Kathmandu and Chitwan Rhinos, where Queens lost to Rhinos by 5 wickets.
Will history repeat itself today or will Kat Queens conquer Rhinos?

The WCL T20 Tournament has been a grand success so far, with all the players displaying their best performances. This is the first time that Nepal has held a Women’s T20 Tournament and is a boost for existing players and aspiring ones.
