Nepal’s performance in the next two ICC World T20 Asia Finals matches against Kuwait and Singapore will decide its qualification for the ICC World T20 Qualifiers.
Singapore remains the top team on the ICC World T20 Asia Finals ranks table. Nepal’s path to qualification will become simpler if it first beats Kuwait on July 27, 2019 and then goes on to defeat Singapore on July 28, 2019.
Likewise, Malaysia will have to defeat Singapore on July 26th, 2019 and Qatar on July 27, 2019 to clear Nepal’s path.
Other issues that concern Nepal’s qualification include Captain Paras Khadka’s fitness and the weather conditions on July 28, 2019 when Nepal will play Kuwait. Also, a washout for the Nepal-Kuwait will obstruct Nepal’s chances of winning the Asia Qualifier.
There is also a likelihood that Nepal, Qatar and Singapore may have a tie on the rankings chart by the end of the qualifiers. In that case, Net Run Rate will decide the winner for which Nepal will have to win its matches with very high margins.
