Seven companies including two foreign companies and five from Nepal have submitted applications to the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) for purchasing its Boeing 757 aircraft. The corporation had decided to auction the B-757, which was originally manufactured in September 1987, citing the frequent maintenance requirement.
The minimum auction price has been fixed at $1.71 million for the B-757 aircraft, which has flown for 86,410 hours in the 29 years of its operation.
Rabindra Shrestha, spokesperson of the NAC, said that a special team from the NAC will evaluate all the applications and announce the final results soon.
