Maersk Line Moves First-Ever Container Shipment from Vishakhapatnam to Nepal

Maersk Line, the world’s largest container shipping company, moved the first ever container shipment from Visakhapatnam to Nepal on June 6. Maersk Line’s first rake will provide a guaranteed fixed transit time from load port till ICD Birgunj. Once in a week, the Chennai express will visit Vizag and multiple feeders will sail during the week to help customers to carry shipments worldwide. The objective of this service is to provide increased accessibility, ease of doing business and transparency to the customers by providing an end to end delivery mechanism. This includes online payment, handling documents, DO issuance, clearing cargo and others all in Nepal itself.

Franck Dedenis, Managing Director, Maersk Line (India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh), said that he is very happy announcing the first ever direct service from Vizag to Nepal. He reminded that they have been serving the Nepal market for over twenty years and are committed to serving their customers to help grow their businesses in a cost-effective and transparent way.
