Kathmandu Leads Chart in Nepal Bribery Incidents

Among the 75 districts of Nepal, the most incidents of bribery took place in Kathmandu, according to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority.

The anti-corruption constitutional body has shared the information about arrests of officials involved in receiving bribery in the past 11 months. The Commission said that 19 officials were arrested from Kathmandu in this duration. Similarly, 5 officials were arrested from Banke district, which ranked second on the chart. Most of the officials arrested red-handed while receiving bribery are from the Department of Survey, according to the Commission. The Commission said that the problem is widespread in all districts of Nepal.
