Nepal’s Sonika Manandhar does her country proud by winning the prestigious international award – Young Champions of the Earth Prize for Asia & the Pacific.
Manandhar was presented the special award for her contribution to improving the electric transport experience in Nepal.
Aeloi Technologies Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and creator of Green Energy Mobility – Sonika Manandhar utilized big data to bring about this revolution in Nepal transport.
With the Green Energy Mobility initiative, Manandhar wants to promote Safa Tempos – a popular electric means of transport in Nepal, which is an alternative to private vehicles.
The initiative is being undertaken in an attempt to curb the impacts of climate change.
The UN Environment Program shared the following post on Twitter in honor of Nepal’s ‘Young Champion’.
“Sonika Manandhar from Nepal has won the Young Champions of the Earth Prize for Asia and the Pacific for honing big data to make electric transport more efficient and accessible, especially for women. #YoungChamps.”
Likewise, the UN Info Centre Nepal also congratulated Manandhar for her achievement.
