Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was admitted to the Grande International Hospital in Dhapasi on October 30, 2019.
According to a press statement, the Prime Minister’s private doctor Dibya Singh Shah and hospital administration said that Oli was taken to the hospital for a regular checkup and that his health was normal.
However, the doctors at the hospital have said that Oli’s condition is not normal and may require a kidney transplant. His blood has a high creatinine level which is harmful to his kidney. The Prime Minister was treated to dialysis for the same and doctors are constantly monitoring if the dialysis is functioning.
“In case it fails to function effectively in the course of time, Oli is recommended to undergo kidney transplantation,” said a source at the hospital.
Therefore, preparations for a kidney transplantation are underway for the second time. A donor has also been arranged for the transplantation.
Oli had already undergone a kidney transplantation at Apollo Hospital in India 12 years ago. His daughter-in-law Anjana Ghimire Oli had donated one of her kidneys back then.
