The health ministry of Nepal has reported that the country’s total COVID-19 tally has hit 676,509 on Thursday afternoon. This statement comes after the ministry recorded 2,760 new virus cases in the last 24 hours.
Overall, 7,130 swab samples were collected and tested for the virus using the RT-PCR method. 1,857 tested positive for the viral infection. Additionally, 3,855 were tested using the antigen method, and 903 were confirmed positive.
With this data, the overall per-day positivity rate has leveled out at 25.12 percent. Individually, 26.04 percent tested positive via the PCR method, while antigen tests had 23.42 percent positivity.
Nepal has a total of 33,368 active cases. 2,994 are admitted to a hospital. In addition, 629 people are under intensive care, while 181 people are on ventilators.
Fortunately, 4,017 people have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours. However, 33 people have lost their lives due to this contagion.
So far, 600,149 people have entirely recovered, while 9,145 have succumbed to the contagion. Currently, the Himalayan nation’s recovery rate is 93.7 percent, and the death rate is 1.5 percent.
