Nepal records 2,474 new cases In the last 24 hours

The Health Ministry has stated that Nepal’s COVID1-9 tally reached 659,365 on Thursday afternoon. In addition, the ministry confirmed that 2,474 new cases have cropped in the past 24 hours.

In the same period, 7,235 RT-PCR swab samples were collected, and 1,577 tested positive. Also, 897 people tested positive via antigen testing.

The overall positivity rate remained at 20.22 percent, considering the 21.8 percent positivity rate of PCR and 17.95 percent positivity rate of antigen testing.

 

Nepal COVID Cases

Considering the current developments, Nepal has 49,555 active cases. 3,053 are hospitalized, and 736 are in intensive care units. In addition, 207 infected are on ventilators.

Thankfully, 2,518 people have recovered in the 24 hours. Unfortunately, however, 24 people have succumbed to this viral infection.

With the 24 mortalities, the death count of Nepal has reached 8,918. Thankfully, 570,958 have recovered from this infection. The Himalayan country’s recovery rate is 90.7 percent, and the COVID-19 mortality rate is 1.5 percent.
