Coronavirus pandemic continues to spread across Nepal and has infected 19,547 people while claiming 52 lives so far. Currently, there are 5,227 active cases and 14,248 recovery cases.
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus cases across the world crossed the 17-million mark to reach 17,476,111 on July 31.
However, there are as many as 10,938,631 recoveries, which is almost 5 million more than the active cases as of now. So far, the pandemic has claimed the lives of 676,759 people.
In the last 24 hours, Nepal has reported 274 new coronavirus positive cases, taking the total count to 19,547. Three men aged 35, 56 and 65 have died from coronavirus infection in Birgunj on July 30, taking the death toll to 55.
Among the deceased, two are from Nagawa and Chapkaiya of Birgunj Sub metropolitan City while the other is from India.
The deceased Indian was the CEO of Jagadamba Enterprises based in Birgunj Metropolitan City.

Meanwhile, 227 patients were discharged from various hospitals, taking the country’s total recoveries to 14,248. Currently, 13,201 COVID-19 suspects are in quarantine facilities.
In recent days, there has been a growing concern that the Kathmandu valley could become a new coronavirus hotspot due to the inadequate safety measures, unregulated people movement and overpopulation.
Public health experts warned of community spread of coronavirus as Valley has reported 45 new cases on Thursday.
In response on July 30, the Nepali Government has banned the entry of passenger vehicles to Kathmandu Valley from 7 PM to 7 AM until further notice. However, the ban will not affect the movement of essential vehicles and cargo vehicles.
Likewise, the government directed the District Administration Offices outside Kathmandu Valley to stop issuing any inter-district vehicular movement permits.
