COVID-19: Alibaba’s Jack Ma to ‘Donate Emergency Supply’ to Nepal

Alibaba Founder, Jack Ma, has announced that his ‘Jack Ma Foundation’ and ‘Alibaba Foundation’ will donate a wide range of essential supplies to 10 various countries in a bid to fight the coronavirus ‘pandemic’.

Emergency supplies include –

  • 8 million face masks
  • 210,000 test kits
  • 36,000 protective suits
  • Ventilators
  • Thermometers

Nepal, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, the Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will receive the aforementioned medical and protective equipment.

 

“The pandemic we face today can no longer be resolved by any individual country,” expressed Jack Ma.

Earlier, he also agreed to donate 20,000 test kits, 100,000 masks and 1,000 protective suits to 54 African countries, and 2 million face masks, 400,000 test kits and other aid to 24 Latin American countries.

The 18th richest person in the world already donated relief materials to areas in Japan, Korea, Italy, Iran and Spain.

Likewise, other billionaires including Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates had recently announced initiatives to fight coronavirus outbreak in their local areas.

So far, the COVID-19 disease has infected 345,297 people and claimed 14,675 lives across 173 countries.
