While virtually addressing the 22nd anniversary of the National Human Rights Council, PM Oli claimed that the Nepali Government has been procuring oxygen cylinders from China at the cost of NPR 50,000 for each.
The statement seems more like a slip-of-the-tongue as the general cost of an oxygen cylinder is NPR 300-400.
The PM has stated that the government is paying 125 times more than the actual price of each cylinder, emphasizing the government’s commitment to saving people amid the pandemic.
He also said that the Nepali Government is working effortlessly to control the second wave and save people. Despite the fact that there are no Made-in-Nepal Vaccines, the government has strived to procure vaccines from foreign countries and successfully vaccinated people, mentioned PM Oli.
Congratulating NHRC on their anniversary, he said that the government is always ready to support NHRC in areas pertaining to safeguarding human rights. Oli further added that the Nepali Government has always respected the NHRC recommendations and implemented them promptly.
PM Oli also said that the government is working actively in controlling organized crimes and ensuring social justice and dignified life for the citizens.
Meanwhile, the NHRC Chair Tapa Bahadur Magar underscored the need for effective implementation of the NHRC report by the government.
