In a bid to upgrade Pokhara’s transport infrastructure while maintaining its greenery, the Pokhara Metropolitan City and South Korea’ Gangwon Province and Green Technology Centre have signed an MoU on the occasion of World Carbon Forum – 2019.
The MoU was signed for a project which will focus on the development of transport infrastructure with greenery in Pokhara.
The MoU was signed by the respective representatives – Pokhara Metropolis Mayor Man Bahadur GC, Gangwon Province Governor Choi Moon-Soon and Green Technology Centre Korea (GTCK) Chief Executive Officer.
As part of the agreement, the joint-collaboration of South Korea’s Gangwon Province and Green Technology will work to promote smart-environment friendly tourism, innovate smart city technology, undertake scientific study and investigate and propel institutional development of Pokhara.
Similar projects were undertaken in Bhutan and Uganda, which emerged successful.
After signing the MoU, all the three members pledged to initiate a project that would contribute to reducing global carbon production and the greenhouse gas emission effects.
On the occasion, Mayor Bahadur GC urged one and all to invest in Nepal, especially that the country is now having an investment favorable climate.
Likewise, the Kathmandu Metropolitan Development Authority had announced its plans to develop smart cities in Kathmandu, Bharatpur and Lalitpur.
