The Consul Office for Seattle in Washington state organized consultative meeting titled ‘Nepal-USA: Business Collaboration, Investment Opportunities and Visit Nepal 2020′ on July 29, 2019.
The high-profile event was aimed at exploring the benefits of conducting business operations for both Nepali and American business interests.
More than 200 delegates from both countries (USA and Nepal) business communities attended the event, informed Honorary Consul for Seattle in Washington State AC Sherpa.
According to the event press statement, participants talked about duty-free, quota-free facilities extended to 77 Nepali products under the Obama administration.
“The event proved to be especially fruitful in exploring the investment opportunities and business prospects in the US and Nepal,” the statement read.
Sherpa who was also Non-Resident Nepalis International Coordination Council Deputy Regional Coordinator said that the event had eminent speakers such as Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Representatives, HSBC Bank Vice President Joycee Shih, Former US ambassador to Nepal Scott H Delisi, Mayor Bothell-WA Andy Rehune, Miss Nepal World Anushka Shrestha, Nepal’s Ambassador to the US Arjun Karki, PRM Consulting Group Vice President Simiran Kundu, Washington State Senator Doug Ericksen, Motivational speaker Darshan Rauniyar and Nepali industrialists like Shyam Tamang and Mingmar Tamang, among others.
“It was an excellent program with distinguished business leaders, some of whom I hope will become partners with us in trying to build a future of hope for the people of Nepal,” said Delsi, also Executive Director at Soarway Foundation.
Rauniyar termed the event as a great exchange of ideas about investor opportunities in Nepal, while Ambassador Karki appreciated it for active participation from everyone.
Hope the event culminates into some great business opportunities for both countries.
