Nepal’s State-3 Govt has planned to construct peace parks in all its 119 local levels.
The decision comes as a result of the Internal Affairs and Law Ministry’s plans to build tourism hotspots in each of the local levels.
According to the Ministry, the parks will be constructed in a manner that they would be completed within four years. The state government has allocated a budget of NPR 100 million for the construction of parks in FY 2019-20 (2076-77 BS).
Local governments will be roped in to carry out the construction of these parks, say Ministry sources.
Speaking at a review program organized by the Internal Affairs and Law Ministry (MoIAL) in Hetauda, Internal Affairs and Law Minister Shalikram Jamakattel said that the state government has started preparations for the upcoming project by reaching out to grassroots people. He said that local governments will also invest in the large-scale project.
