In a step boosting its tourism ties with China, Nepal left its special mark at the ‘Beijing Expo-2019’.
The Himalayan nation has installed a 15-ft-tall pavilion of Gautam Buddha at the event and was inaugurated by President Bidya Devi Bhandari on April 28, 2019. A Lumbini Peace Garden has also been created at the place.
The pavilion stood as a special attraction at the event that has seen 100,000 visitors in just 15 days.
Nepal’s presence at the event was aimed at attracting attract Chinese investors and tourists, along with highlighting the potential in different Nepali sectors such as technology, agriculture, forest and medicinal herbs.
The expo will continue for six months and is expected to see around 16 million visitors from all over the world. Nearly 110 countries have exhibited their floricultural and horticultural products, cultural and tourism heritage, as part of the event.
Hope the expo will add to Nepal Government’s efforts to make Visit Nepal 2020 a grand success!
