The eleventh edition of Nepal’s Chrysanthemum Flower Expo kicked off at Jawlakhel, Lalitpur amid a grand opening.
The four-day exhibition, inaugured by the Nepali Minister of State for Agricultural Development Sarita Prasai, is a free event and is being held from October 12-15, 2017. While the Chrysanthemum Flower Expo 2016 recorded around 30,000 visitors, the organizers expect around 35,000 visitors this time.
The 2017 expo is hosting 3 Chrysanthemum competitive stalls, 3 informative stalls and 44 business stalls. Besides, various types of chrysanthemum flowers and other seasonal flowers, dry flowers, decorative plants, compost fertilizers and tools are also being showcased at the exhibition.
As a special attraction, the expo is also hosting a competition between flower producers of the country with an aim to encourage them to bring in quality flowers into the market.
The expo, being organized by the Floriculture Association Nepal (FAN), aims at promoting the domestic floriculture industry.
