‘Mahanayak’ Hamal to Direct a Movie

Rajesh Hamal, the legendary superstar of Nepali cinema is going ahead with his plans to produce and direct a movie. After starring in over 200 popular movies as the lead actor and winning several national awards in a career spanning three decades, Hamal is now foraying into direction.

In a recent interview Hamal said that the script writing for the film is currently in progress and once it is done they will begin the production process. He mentioned that the film would have a combination of entertainment along with a social message. He said that he liked the movie ‘Jatra’ and commended it as an ideal film for its entertainment value and its representation of certain socially prevalent issues.

Hamal said that the cast and crew of his movie would be finalized after the first chapter of the screenplay.

Rajesh Hamal, who is known for his influencing personality, his trademark long hair and the positive atmosphere that he brings in with his mere presence, was last seen on screen in a cameo role for the sci-fi thriller ‘Bijuli Machine’.
