Inaugurating the Enhancing Education Quality in School campaign on August 21, 2019, Nepal Education, Science and Technology Minister Girirajmani Pokharel announced that the preparation for the Federal Education Policy, aimed to enhance education quality in community was close to completion.
This year’s SEE results presented a poor picture of the teaching quality in community schools.
Providing hope for the future of education in Nepal, the Education Minister said that the policy has been formulated after holding talks with education experts, parents and stakeholders.
Pokharel said that the Council of Minister’s meeting would decide to launch the vacancy for teachers. He also said that the performance of community school students will also improve if the government provide teachers with teaching grants based on their track record.
Education, Science and Technology Ministry Secretary Hari Prasad Dahal also assured that the efforts to provide quality and useful education were in progress.
The campaign at Biratnagar was also witness to a presentation on the activities conducted in 14 community schools of State 1. The presentation was made by teachers, principals and school management committee members.
In comparison to private schools, only 2,792 community schools students could secure a top grade or A+.
