The Nepali Government has ‘postponed’ the Grade 11 and Grade 12 Board Examinations due to the unprecedented nationwide lockdown incited by coronavirus outbreak.
The Grade 11 examination was scheduled to be held from May 3, 2020 (Baishakh 21, 2077) and the Grade 12 examination from April 20, 2020 (Baishakh 8, 2077).
However, the Nepali National Examination Board (NEB) has decided to postpone the board exams until further notice during a board meeting on April 7, 2020.
The NEB said that the new schedule of the examination will be announced once the situation improves.
The Board urged the students to protect their health by staying at home and utilize the precious time to prepare for the examinations.
A total of 9,62,000 students were appearing for the Grade 11 and Grade 12 examinations.
Earlier, the Nepali Government had also postponed the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) 2076 due to the rapid spread of novel coronavirus.
So far, Nepal has reported 9 coronavirus positive cases. However, the government is on high alert as the nation entered the 2nd stage of coronavirus transmission.
